Doing Well by Doing Good – Being Profitable While Making a Social Impact
People traditionally associate social impact with non-profits and charities. However, in recent years, there is a new breed of entrepreneurs who are dedicated to social or environmental outcomes and who at the same time are also generating respectable cash from their ventures. Can profit and social impact co-exist or are they always at conflict? If there are trade-offs, how do entrepreneurs balance the two outcomes? How do scaling, fundraising, and exit strategies differ vis a vis traditional start-ups? In this panel, we will explore the stories of social entrepreneurs at different stages of business development.
