Profile

Vivek Sivathanu has been involved in co-organizing the MIT GSW since 2010. He is a doctoral candidate in Mechanical Engineering at MIT. He is an engineer and likes designing and building hardware products. Prior to MIT he got a bachelors in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras where he was involved in many robotics projects. He is a fellow at the Legatum Center for Entrepreneurship and Development where his interests lie in the use of technology to make healthcare accessible to the masses especially in rural areas of emerging economies like India. He is currently working on developing a low cost at-home healthcare monitor for chronic disease management using low cost sensors and data analytics.
