Why should I apply?
MIT’s Global Startup Workshop (GSW) is the world’s premier conference on fostering entrepreneurship. This year’s workshop taking place in Guatemala City presents a unique opportunity for startups to leverage MIT’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in order to network and flesh out ideas with venture capitalists, government leaders, and other top business leaders.
Through the Startup showcase, attendees can obtain useful and critical feedback on their startup ideas and products. Critical feedback is essentially for every startup as they perfect their go to market strategy.
Additionally, the startup showcase team would help provide an online presence for startups participating in the showcase by providing a short video describing the startup, company logo, and company description on the GSW page.
Can I get funding to attend?
Take a look at the Fellowship program – note multiple individuals from the same team can apply for the Fellowship.
What can I showcase?
The startup showcase is an avenue for startups to present their products or vision based on the stage of the startup. We welcome a variety of interesting options for startups to showcase their products.
Through the application, participants can also include information regarding the showcase materials, so as to ensure that the startup showcase team can allow each team to have necessary materials for the showcase.

What are the selection criteria for the showcase?
Through the showcase, we hope to provide attendees with a unique experience. Applications to startup showcase would be judged primarily on 3 criteria:
1) Uniqueness and consistency with the GSW 2015 theme and vision
2) Stage of the Startup
3) Quality of the application submitted
We hope to select unique companies that are focused on developing products that affect for good lives of people around the world and have also been able to advance towards showing that their ideas can truly shape the world for the better.
Teams planning to enter BPC & EPC are also eligible and encouraged to apply for a space at the Demo Town showcase.
If selected, do I still need to register?
Yes, all attendees must register in order to participate in Global Startup Workshop.
