Thomas Luly
Program Coordinator, MIT Skoltech Initiative

Tom is a Program Coordinator at the MIT Skoltech Initiative, where he has developed and implemented a faculty development program for faculty members of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, a startup university located near Moscow focused on bringing a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation to Russia. Tom collaborates with MIT faculty and staff to develop programming focused on active pedagogical techniques, curriculum design and delivery, collaborative research, entrepreneurship and innovation, and leadership. He also provided support for the inaugural Skoltech Innovation Workshop at MIT – a four-week program on campus that empowered students to design and prototype solutions to real-world problems.

Tom graduated with honors from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY with a BA in Russian and Political Science. Previously, he worked as a research intern with the Carnegie Endowment in Moscow, where he studied the role of so-called ‘innovation clusters’ in economic and political development. He enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and traveling.
