Juan Fermín Rodríguez is the Co-Founder and CEO of Kingo (formerly Quetsol), a global company focused on providing prepaid renewable electrical services to marginalized communities, at a cheaper price than candles, kerosene, and diesel. Kingo has consolidated itself as a leader in this industry globally, having electrified already around 30,000 people, with a vision of electrifying 1billion lives in the next 5 years.

Mr. Rodríguez has vast professional experience in marketing, strategy and innovation. He labored during 6 years for Procter & Gamble as a Brand Manager, managing brands like Pantene, Head&Shoulders, Pampers, Peptobismol, and Vicks. Additionally, Mr. Rodríguez was also the P&G Regional Marketing Manager for all of Walmart Central America.

As Co-Founder and CEO of Kingo, his principal roles have been: 1) raise capital for over US$2,000,000 in the last 4 years, negotiating with impact investment funds, and angel investors; 2) develop and implement expansion strategies; and 3) product development for the Kingo prepay solar energy kits, manufactured and assembled in China.

Mr. Rodríguez holds a BA in Business Administration from the Francisco Marroquín University, with a minor in Marketing, and another in Finance. Forms part of important entrepreneurial programs, such as the Unreasonable Institute in Boulder Colorado, as well as AGORA Partnerships, based in Washington D.C. Was the runner up for the Social Entrepreneur of the Year awarded by the Schwab Foundation, and also runner up for Young Manager of the Year by the Guatemalan Management Association. He was also declared by MIT as one of the primary innovators of Central America below 35.

Mr. Rodríguez dedicates part of his time to extracurricular activities. He is a mentor at the “Euristica” entrepreneurial program at the Universidad Francisco Marroquín; he also likes to make music and play a variety of sports.
