Charles Vitry
Master's Student, Manufacturing Engineering

After attending schools in South-East Asia, Charles studied for a French Scientific Baccalaureate in Paris, before beginning an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Engineering Degree in Cambridge University, UK. This year, he has joined the Cambridge University’s Institute for Manufacturing to specialise in management and manufacturing technologies. He is a penultimate-year student, and is currently on the Cambridge-MIT Exchange. Charles is sponsored by BP through the MIT Energy Initiative to work in his spare time in the Precision Engineering Research Group of MIT on a uranium-harvesting project. He also runs a smart-metering start-up currently in a pilot phase and is involved with various entrepreneurial projects. Charles is interested in innovation investment, technologies for the developing world and the application of engineering in a business context.
