Brian’s enterprise gathers used vegetable oil from Mexico City’s restaurants and food processing facilities and converts it to a biodiesel and glycerin fuel for use in diesel-powered engines. The venture reduces waste and air pollution, creates jobs, and provides a local energy source for major cities in developing countries. Brian grew up in Detroit, Michigan and understands the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in supporting local economic growth. He is blending his technical expertise in engineering and his business ambitions to build a model that demonstrates how innovation and the efficient use of local resources benefiting businesses, consumers, and public agencies. Brian holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is currently a graduate fellow in the MIT System Design and Management program. In his spare time, he serves as a product design and development consultant for a small start-up in San Francisco, CA.
