Majid Kaissar EL GHAIB
Majid K. EL GHAIB holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France) and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris, France). He began his career at Ardaman & Assoc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, one of the largest U.S companies in the environmental engineering and renewable energy.
Upon his return to Morocco, Mr. El Ghaib joined the Moroccan Ministry of Public Works and helped develop one of the largest Moroccan consulting firms “Conseil, Engineering et Développement” (CID) specializing in design and implementation of sustainable development projects in different sectors, such as water resources management and construction of large public infrastructures.
Appointed in 2000 as CEO of the National Office of Fisheries of Morocco (ONP), a public institution in charge of the Moroccan fisheries sector, he restructured the company during the last decade; and ONP emerged as an essential public operator in the implementation of sustainable projects for the modernization and the development of the Moroccan fishing industry.
Since 2011, Mr. El Ghaib is the President and Founder of OMEGA Holding, an investment company in the fisheries sector with a portfolio of projects of 85 M$. Mr. El Ghaib is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enactus Morocco, a nonprofit organization, part of Enactus Worldwide, a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world.
With his many years in management, Mr. El Ghaib lectures on various themes such as “Corporate Governance”, “Business Ethics”, “Corporate Social Responsibility”, ”Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. Mr. El Ghaib is a winner of many national prizes and awards (“Quality” in 2002 and 2003), “Citizenship” in 2003, “Social Responsibility” in 2005, “Quality Manager of the Year in 2005).
