Hynd Bouhia worked as the global head of Strategy and Development of the development arm of Morocco’s largest public Pension Fund (CDG Development), since 2010, in charge of long term investment in sustainable territorial development; after being the Director General of the Casablanca Stock Exchange.  She is also an Associate Professor of Finance at the International University of Rabat.  Previously, Dr. Bouhia was the Economic Adviser of Morocco’s Prime Minister (2004-2007).  She went back to Morocco in 2004 after eight years at the World Bank in Washington, where she worked on lending projects for development and poverty reduction; and managed World Bank issuances in emerging market currencies.

Bouhia holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research and Economic Development from Harvard University and an Engineering Diploma from Ecole Centrale Paris. Dr. Bouhia also holds a M.A. in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. She has published several academic papers and authored a book titled “Water in the Macro Economy” (Ashgate, 2001).

In August 2008, she was ranked 29^th of the 100 most powerful women of the world by Forbes Magazine. Last year 2012, she was selected among the 100 most powerful Arab women by Business Finance. Dr. Bouhia is a 2013 Archbishop Tutu African Leadership Fellow.
