Aaron Kirunda is a social entrepreneur and visionary who has dedicated his life to creating innovative solutions to tackle the challenges of Poverty, Ignorance and Exclusion. He is a co-founder at enjuba, a social enterprise in Uganda through which thousands of lives are being impacted through micro-credit – giving a hand-up to micro entrepreneurs and supporting them with business development services to enable them succeed. Enjuba also runs a football for Development initiative, using soccer to mobilise communities and engage them in thinking about income generating activities that they can start locally to better their lives, and Spelling Bee to help children learn new words to boost their literacy and help them stay in school longer. He has contributed to the formation of Business Innovation Consortium Uganda, a collective of Hubs for start up entrepreneurs to get their ideas off the ground. In the past, Aaron was also involved in the process of starting and setting up a community Radio station that currently serves over a million people in Uganda. In his free time, he mentors young leaders, inspiring them to be the change they want to see. Aaron is a recipient of several awards for his work. He loves to travelling and adventure, meeting new people as well as debating.
