Emma McClendon is the Acting Assistant Curator of Textiles at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, and co-curator of the exhibition Fashion and Technology currently on view through May 8, 2013. She holds an M.A. in the History of Dress from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, as well as an M.A. Honours in Art History from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

The Museum at FIT is the only museum in New York City dedicated solely to the art of fashion. Best known for its innovative and award-winning exhibitions, the museum has a permanent collection of more than 50,000 garments and accessories dating from the 18 th century to the present. The Museum at FIT collects, conserves, documents, exhibits, and interprets fashion. The museum’s mission is to advance knowledge of fashion through exhibitions, publications, and public programs.
